It is that time of year - my favorite! The world comes back to life and our skin and skin care routines need a little revitalization. Here are some tips for this season.
1. Spring Clean Your Skin Care Products
The toner you've had on the shelf for the last year? Likely time to toss it out and buy a new one. This is a great time to check all of those "use by" dates on your products. Using beyond these dates may cause skin irritation.
2. Clean or Replace Your Brushes
While we are spring cleaning it is time to inspect your brushes. We should clean our brushes every 7-10 days. We both know that doesn't always happen. Here is a quick and easy home hack for cleaning your brushes.
- Squeeze a nickel size amount of gentle shampoo into a glass or mug and fill with warm water.
- Swirl your brushes in the water and gently massage the bristles to further remove the old makeup.
- Rinse with clean water and carefully squeeze the water out.
- Lay flat to dry.
3. Drink Lots of Water
Need we say more?
Time to shed the dead winter skin cells and environmental toxins. Follow up with a moisturizing mask for extra hydration. (You should use a mask at least 2-3 times a week.)
5. Change Your Moisturizing Lotion/Cream
You've likely spent the winter months using a heavy cream formula. Warmer months and more activity means that our skin will naturally be oilier. With spring here it's time to switch over to an oil free moisturizer. We like COSRX Aloe Vera Oil Free Moisture Cream. It is light and refreshing, moisturizing without leaving a greasy feel behind.
6. Apply Sunscreen...
...and reapply your sunscreen. Yes, it's not summer yet, but UV rays can affect you here and now.
7. Add an Eye Cream
